Trip Report of Our Motorcycle Tour
Day 1-2: Departure to Le Mans
Marc and I started our motorcycle trip with great enthusiasm, with Le Mans, France as our first destination. We were eager to attend the MotoGP races on Saturday and Sunday. The ride to Le Mans went smoothly, and once we arrived, we immersed ourselves in the world of speed and adrenaline. The races were spectacular, and it was amazing to see the top riders in motorsport up close.
Day 3: Le Mans to Bordeaux via La Rochelle
After an unforgettable weekend in Le Mans, we set off on Monday towards Bordeaux. On the way, we made a stop in the picturesque La Rochelle. This charming coastal town was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful harbor and atmospheric streets. After this break, we continued our journey to Bordeaux, where we arrived in the evening and enjoyed the local cuisine.
Day 4: Bordeaux to San Sebastian
The next day, we rode via the Route Nationale to San Sebastian, Spain. The coastal ride was breathtaking, and we made several stops to enjoy the view and the fresh sea breeze. San Sebastian welcomed us with its beautiful beaches and lively atmosphere. We ended the day with some food and drinks.
Day 5: San Sebastian to Lourdes
From San Sebastian, we headed into the Pyrenees, towards Lourdes. The ride through the mountains was a highlight; the roads were challenging, and the scenery was spectacular. Upon arriving in Lourdes, we couldn’t resist the humor and hoped for a miracle to get new tires for our motorcycles. Although no miracle occurred, spending the night in this famous pilgrimage site was a unique experience.
Day 6: Lourdes to Andorra
Our journey continued through the Pyrenees to the beautiful Andorra. This small country amazed us with its breathtaking mountains and duty-free shops. While strolling through the streets of Andorra, we met former MotoGP rider Xavier Simeon, who runs a Belgian chocolate shop here. It was great to have a chat with him.
Day 7: Andorra to Argeles-sur-Mer
Still enjoying the beautiful Pyrenees, we rode further to the Mediterranean coast. Our destination was Argeles-sur-Mer, with a visit to the picturesque Collioure. This small coastal town charmed us with its colorful houses and historic harbor. We had a relaxing evening and spent the night in Argeles-sur-Mer.
Day 8-9: Return to Belgium
After a wonderful time in southern France, we began our journey back to Belgium. It took us two days to ride home, encountering some rain showers along the way. This ride marked the end of an unforgettable motorcycle trip.
Conclusion
This motorcycle trip was a series of adventures, beautiful landscapes, and unforgettable moments. From the excitement of the MotoGP in Le Mans to the serene beauty of the Pyrenees and the charming coastal towns of France and Spain, each day brought something new and special.
